"Liberty"

Overview:

"Liberty" is a social studies unit that can be used in a 5-8 classroom.  It is designed to give students an understanding of the course of events that led to the American Revolution.

Numerous pedagogical methodologies are employed to provide students with many opportunities to excel in various learning styles.

There are clearly defined expectations for Special Education Students and extension activites for gifted students on the Expectations page.

Multiple perspectives, primary source, and cause/effect relationships are examined in various lessons.

Many of the lessons have a connection to the historical fiction novel, "Johnny Tremain", by Esther Forbes.  Before teaching this lesson, it is recommended that the instructor read the novel.

Use the "Just for fun" page for short videos.  Perfect for a quick social studies lesson when flexibility is required.
